The 2010 NNI Press Ad of the Month awards were deemed a resounding success in ad-land, with TG4’s memorable ‘Seven Signatures’ campaign proving the highlight of the inaugural competition.
Now into their second year, the NNI awards – managed by Cullen Communications – are getting bigger by the month. The 2010 competition saw a total of 47 ads or campaigns submitted for the first six months of the year; this year that figure rose to 131.
With significant publicity on offer for monthly winners – as well as a shot at the overall Press Ad of the Year title – it’s clear that more agencies and more advertisers are keen to get their work involved.
“The huge increase in this year’s entry is great news, as it means more ads are qualifying for our end-of-year event and more creators are getting the recognition their work deserves,” said NNI’s Frank Cullen. “That reflects positively on everyone involved – agency, advertiser and even newspaper.”
Already this year six NNI Press Ad of the Month awards have been snapped up, with the June award going to Young Euro RSCG for their superb series of Bulmers ads entitled ‘Doing Our Bit’.
The other 2011 monthly winners so far include:
‘Josh’ by Ogilvy & Mather for the Make-a-Wish Foundation (January)
‘Clarkson’ by Owens DDB for Volkswagen Ireland (February)
‘Feis Ceoil’ by Irish International BBDO for ESB (March)
‘Fuseboard’ by Irish International BBDO for the Road Safety Authority (April)
‘Hand’ by Ogilvy & Mather for the ISPCC (May)
